The Japanese Language Section for Foreign Students (JLS)
JLS is a one year course designed for overseas students wishing to then enrol in further education. With a carefully planned curriculum designed to nurture each individual, international students will reach a comprehensive level of Japanese ability.
Students in the past who have completed all three years have gone on to study at four year universities, returned home to work in jobs requiring Japanese ability, and even found work in Japan. Studying Japanese at the college gives you the basis for a wide range of opportunities.

Why not come to Yamagata and study Japanese language?
Yamagata is famous for its delicious cherries. How is it possible to convey the taste and hue, to someone who has never eaten one? For example, you may try using a words such as the following, “It is sweet and slightly sour and is shiny like a red ruby”. But whatever language you use can never live up to the actual experience.
